Location: MMHE Shipyard, Pasir Gudang, Johor

Resposibilities

  • Perform welding works (MIG, TIG, SMAW, FCAW) for ship hull and structural components.
  • Ensure welds meet project specifications, drawings, and classification society standards.
  • Operate welding equipment safely and maintain tools in good condition.
  • Follow safety guidelines and company HSE rules during hot works.
  • Work closely with fitters and supervisors to achieve daily production targets.
  • Carry out fitting works for ship structural blocks, plates, and sections.
  • Read and interpret structural drawings for alignment and fitting.
  • Use cutting, grinding, and fitting tools to prepare steel components.
  • Assist in block assembly, hull alignment, and support welders during fabrication.
  • Ensure accuracy in measurements, tolerances, and dimensions.

Requirements:

  • Certificate / qualification in welding (3G/6G preferred) and Certificate / trainingin mechanical / structural fitting
  • Minimum 2 years experience in shipbuilding or steel fabrication or heavy steel structure welding.
  • Ability to read and interpret technical drawings and welding procedures (WPS), and work independently
  • Familiar with NDT requirements (UT, RT, MPI).
  • Strong safety awareness and teamwork skills.
  • Skilled in using fitting tools, oxy-cutting, and basic machining.
  • Good teamwork and safety practices
