Business Development Manager / Business Development Executive based in Melaka Branch

(Assistant Manager / Senior Executive)

Assist the Branch Head of Melaka Branch in driving marketing initiatives and achieving annual production targets. Ensure consistent, high-quality service delivery to agents and customers.

Promote organic growth and expand non-motor business from existing agents while recruiting new target agents in line with the Business Plan.

The key responsibilities will include but are not limited to:

·       Support Banca channel including collection and system processing

·       Support Franchise Channel with prompt response and update

·       Conduct product briefing as and when needed

·       Maintain and review renewals of all existing policies with all channel timely

·       Advise and support agents/customers on their insurance needs and requirements.

·       Conduct regular meetings with agents to address challenges and identify areas for improvement.

·       Prepare insurance quotations and carry out necessary surveys.

·       Ensure timely collection of outstanding premiums in line with Finance SOP.

·       Monitor and ensure policies are processed and delivered within agreed turnaround times (TAT).

Job Specification:

  • Diploma or Degree in a relevant discipline.
  • (AMII / ACII / DMII or equivalent insurance qualifications is an added advantage)
  • Min 5 years of experience in business development within the general insurance industry, with a focus on agent recruitment and servicing agents.
  • Strong technical knowledge across all classes of general insurance.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Strong presentation and negotiation abilities.
  • Mature, proactive, and able to work effectively at all levels of the organization.
  • A team player with initiative, drive for results, and a commitment to quality.
