Job Summary:

We are seeking a Audio Technician that is responsible for the operation, maintenance, and repair of audio systems across the facility, with a primary focus on Public Address (PA) and communication systems. This role ensures clear, reliable, and safe audio coverage for announcements, emergency alerts, and events. The technician also supports other audio-visual (AV) systems as part of the facility's overall maintenance and operations strategy.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Operate, maintain, and troubleshoot Public Address (PA) systems, background music systems, and intercom networks across the facility.
  • Perform regular inspections and preventive maintenance of amplifiers, speakers, microphones, control panels, and related cabling.
  • Diagnose and repair faults in PA and audio systems promptly to minimize downtime.
  • Support the setup and configuration of sound systems for meetings, conferences, and public events held within the facility.
  • Monitor system performance, sound levels, and clarity to ensure consistent audio quality.
  • Maintain documentation of all maintenance activities, inspection schedules, and system configurations.
  • Coordinate with electrical, IT, and maintenance teams for system integration and network-related troubleshooting.
  • Assist in the installation and commissioning of new PA or sound systems during renovation or expansion projects.
  • Ensure compliance with safety and operational standards, including electrical and fire safety codes.
  • Maintain inventory of spare parts, cables, and audio components; report shortages promptly.
  • Respond to emergency maintenance calls and support critical communication systems at all times.

Qualifications:

  • Diploma or Certificate in Electronics, Audio Engineering, Electrical Technology, or a related field.
  • At least 3 years of hands-on experience maintaining and repairing PA systems or audio-visual equipment in a facility, commercial, or institutional environment.
  • In-depth knowledge of audio systems, signal flow, mixing, and amplification.
  • Familiarity with various brands of PA systems, mixers, amplifiers, and control software.
  • Basic understanding of electrical safety, low-voltage systems, and cabling standards.
  • Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills.
  • Good communication skills and ability to coordinate with cross-functional teams.
  • Willing to work in shifts, including weekends or holidays, as required by operational needs.

Job Type: Contract

Pay: RM1, RM2,000.00 per month
