About the role

We are seeking an experienced Assistant Safety Manager to join our team at Cititel Express Kota Kinabalu. As a full-time role based in Kota Kinabalu, Sabah, you will be responsible for assisting in the implementation and maintenance of our comprehensive health and safety programme to ensure the wellbeing of our employees and guests.

What you'll be doing

  1. Assist in the development and implementation of safety policies, procedures and training programmes
  2. Conduct regular safety inspections and audits to identify and address potential hazards
  3. Investigate and report on any incidents or accidents, and implement corrective actions
  4. Provide safety related training and drills to employees across all departments
  5. Stay up-to-date with relevant health and safety regulations and best practices
  6. Maintain accurate records and documentation related to safety compliance

What we're looking for

  1. 3-5 years of experience in a similar safety role, preferably from a construction background
  2. Strong understanding of building safety systems and emergency procedures
  3. Good communication and interpersonal skills to effectively liaise with employees at all levels
  4. Proven ability to identify and mitigate safety risks and implement corrective measures
  5. A proactive, detail-oriented and problem-solving mindset
  6. Relevant safety certifications or qualifications would be highly advantageous
