Job Summary

 Assist the Design Manager on structural discipline works involving design management duties to achieve value engineering, construction innovation and optimisation in design.    



Key Responsibilities

​​​​​​​

  • Assist the Design Manager in the design management and structural discipline roles
  • Assist the structural team in preparation of business proposal decks and tender preparations
  • Responsible to coordinate the design consultants on technical issues, delivery and meeting schedules.
  • Develop conceptual/preliminary design and options for new tenders and project proposals involving bridge/viaduct structures, tunnels and other infrastructure works. Knowledge in building structures design is added advantage
  • Assist in review of structural design and drawings to ensure optimisation, completeness, constructability and safety in design are achieved at all stages
  • Perform design analysis to verify works carried out by design consultant to ensure optimisation
  • Carry out material estimation for key components for early cost estimation
  • Coordinate interfacing works with other disciplines and department to ensure resolution of all inter-discipline compliance
  • Manage the project design consultant for timely deliverables and ensure the design drawings and all other submissions meet the project requirements  


Qualifications

Degree in Civil Engineering or its equivalent.

Skills & Abilities
  • Possess strong structural engineering fundamentals in highway / railway bridge structures, cut & cover tunnels and other heavy infrastructure design is essential
  • Structural design knowledge in railway / metro line stations and building projects including steel works design is added advantage  
  • Strong communication skills and with strength in leadership 
  • Good written and spoken command in English
Expected Minimum Years of Experience
  • 5 to 10 years of bridge design experience gained in a design consultant drawings and all other submissions meet the project requirements
