The Four Seasons Hotel Kuala Lumpur is looking for a Director of Security. Candidates with a passion for excellence, expertise in Security and Loss Prevention Management and a proven leadership experience are invited to apply for a career with Four Seasons. As the leader of the Security Team, the Director of Security, works across the different disciplines to deliver an exceptional experience and provide leadership. The Director of Security is a vital member of the Security Team who is responsible for leading the Security Team and providing a safe and secure environment in which guests can relax and/or conduct business. This department establishes, promotes and maintains the hotel's security and property protection. The Security Team is available 24-hours a day.
Four Seasons Hotel Kuala Lumpur's Director of Security will hold Four Seasons Culture Standards with the highest regard, as he/she is expected to be the proponent of honesty, integrity, security, safety, and team spirit. Our Cultural Standards are "How we behave." He/she will have an accommodating and willing approach toward the guests, co-workers, visitors, government and neighborhood entities and a welcoming and outgoing personality and is expected to maintain the friendly and unobtrusive atmosphere of the Hotel. The Director of Security will assist all departments in providing exceptional guest service while simultaneously ensuring a safe environment for all and protecting the property of our guests, employees, and the Four Seasons. They will need to be extremely sensitive towards all occupants and workers, anticipating their needs so we can meet our standards. He/She will also be sensitive to everybody's needs and at times will act as a facilitator, mediator, and informant to maintain a respectful and friendly relationship between and with all occupants of our building.
*Responsibilities:*
- Advising the General Manager and Hotel Manager in all matters pertaining to the providing, administering and maintaining of adequate and effective security and other measures within the Hotel to ensure the maximum protection is given to the life and person of Hotel's guests and employees and that properties and interests of the hotel's guests and employees are safeguarded against loss, damages or other.
- Planning, scheduling and rostering security personnel for general or policing duties on 24 hours within the hotel premises.
- Planning, instructing and guiding all security personnel regularly in order that such personnel may carry out or discharge their duties actively and efficiently at all times.
- Reviewing all security measures, procedures, equipment and methods from time to time for protective and preventive purpose as well as to maintain efficiency and tight security control.
- Reviewing daily reports from Security Personnel, issuing necessary orders and counter-act unsatisfactory or irregular situations and conditions.
- Assisting the General Manager and Hotel Manager when necessary or as instructed in liaising with Police, Fire Department and local authorities on matter of vice, gambling, theft, death, fire, etc. and special security measures and requirements for special events or functions.
- Representing the hotel and attending monthly meetings of Police Security Council Meeting in discussing common problems and practices.
- Ensuring that personal files of all subordinates (Security Manager, Security Officers and Security Assistants) are kept up-to-date and that a proper record is maintained of their salaries, leave, etc.
- Liaise closely with all departments in matters pertaining to safety & security and ensures that the day-to-day routine relating to search of employee parcel is strictly adhered to
- In the event of any emergency, to make immediate action as required under the hotel's standing regulation and to notify the General Manager and Hotel Manager as soon as possible of action taken, etc.
- Conducting and/or supervising investigations into reports made on fire, cases of theft and accident and thereafter to submit the investigation reports to the General Manager and Hotel Manager without undue delay.
- Ensuring that a high standard of discipline and deployment of all security personnel is maintained at all times.
- Ensuring that courteous service is provided by security personnel to guests and employees at all times.
- Observing, taking action where necessary and reports all hotel property deficiencies and safety hazards.
- Maintaining a continuous surveillance of those areas that are frequented by guests and all work areas of employees.
- Ensuring that all employees abide by hotel rules and regulations.
- Ensuring that files and records are maintained for reference and that they are kept under lock and key and not available for browsing by subordinates.
- Recruiting, selecting, training and controlling effectively subordinates under direct thought to meet the man specification and supervision so as to ensure that they meet the agreed standard of performance and all statutory requirements.
- Ensuring that all firefighting apparatus are fully maintained and established trained security personnel and other appointed employees in the method of firefighting.
*Qualifications:*
- 3 to 5 years of experience in Security or Police in a Senior Supervisory / Managerial capacity.
- College Degree in Security / Hospitality Management is preferred.
- Able to work a flexible schedule with the ability to work all shifts, weekends and holidays as per business demands and needs.
- Excellent reading, writing, and oral proficiency in English language.
- Must be able to speak, read, and write Bahasa Malaysia.
- Must have the right to work in Malaysia.
