About the role

Uchida MK Sdn Bhd is seeking a talented Procurement Executive to join our growing team in Section 26, Shah Alam, Selangor. This full-time role is responsible for managing the procurement process and ensuring the timely delivery of materials and services to support our manufacturing operations.

What you'll be doing

  • Support HOD in supervising and guiding department team members.
  • Negotiate with suppliers to secure the best possible pricing, terms and delivery schedules
  • Prepare and process purchase orders, requisitions and other procurement documentation
  • Follow-up with suppliers to ensure on-time delivery and quality of goods
  • Maintain good suppliers' relationships.
  • Monitor supplier performance according to ISO Standards and identify opportunities for improvement
  • Maintain accurate records and inventory levels to support production planning
  • Collaborate cross-functionally to understand business needs and requirements
  • Implement and adhere to procurement policies and procedures
  • Support internal and external ISO audits related to procurement.
  • Assist in preparing procurement reports and data summaries for HOD or management review.
  • Support the development of procurement processes, workflow and strategies to drive cost savings and efficiencies
  • Performs any other ad-hoc duties as assigned by Superior.

What we're looking for

  • Minimum 3 years' experience in a procurement or purchasing role, ideally within the manufacturing/furniture industry.
  • Strong negotiation and vendor management skills.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities to liaise with suppliers and internal stakeholders
  • Proficient in using procurement and inventory management software.
  • Detailed-oriented with good analytical and document skills.
  • An analytical mindset with the ability to identify cost-saving opportunities.
  • Degree in Purchasing, Supply Chain Management, or a related field
  • Effective communication skills in both English and Bahasa Malaysia
  • Able to manage multiple tasks and work under minimal supervision
  • Must be able to work in Shah Alam and able to travel.
