Job Summary

We are seeking a reliable and hardworking Kitchen Helper / Steward to join our culinary team at VCR. In this role, you will assist in maintaining cleanliness and organization in the kitchen, supporting food preparation activities, and ensuring a sanitary environment. The Kitchen Helper / Steward plays a vital role in helping our kitchen operate efficiently and uphold high standards of cleanliness and hygiene.

Responsibilities:

· Assist in the preparation of ingredients under the direction of the chefs and cooks.

· Clean and sanitize kitchen equipment, utensils, and food preparation areas according to health and safety standards.

· Ensure proper disposal of kitchen waste and recycling materials.

· Stock and maintain inventory of kitchen supplies and ingredients.

· Operate dishwashing equipment and hand wash dishes, pots, pans, and utensils as needed.

· Maintain cleanliness of kitchen floors, walls, and surfaces throughout the shift.

· Empty and clean trash containers regularly.

· Support kitchen staff during meal service by transporting and storing food deliveries.

· Assist in plating and garnishing dishes as directed.

· Help maintain a smooth flow of operations in the kitchen by fulfilling tasks promptly and efficiently.

· Adhere to food safety and sanitation standards at all times.

· Follow proper procedures for handling and storing cleaning products and chemicals.

· Report any maintenance or repair issues to the kitchen supervisor or manager promptly.

Qualifications:

· Previous experience as a Kitchen Helper or in a similar role preferred, but not required.

· Food handler's card or willingness to obtain one.

· SPM or equivalent preferred.

Skill and Knowledge:

· Previous experience in a kitchen environment preferred but not required; training will be provided.

· Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and handle multiple tasks simultaneously.

· Strong attention to detail and commitment to cleanliness and hygiene.

· Good communication skills and ability to work effectively as part of a team.

· Flexibility to work evenings, weekends, and holidays as needed.

Job Types: Full-time, Contract

Contract length: 12 months

Pay: Up to RM2,300.00 per month
