Job Summary:

The Drafter (Solar) is responsible for preparing detailed design drawings, layouts, and documentation for solar PV systems based on project requirements and engineering specifications. This role supports the engineering and project teams in developing accurate, compliant, and professional technical drawings for residential, commercial, and industrial solar installations.

Key Responsibilities:

Design & Drafting

  • Prepare 2D and 3D drawings for solar PV system layouts, including rooftop, ground-mounted, and carport systems.
  • Draft electrical single-line diagrams (SLD), wiring schematics, mounting structures, and cable routing plans.
  • Develop and update as-built drawings, technical schematics, and detailed installation layouts.
  • Revise and modify designs based on engineering input, client feedback, or site conditions.
  • Ensure drawings comply with company standards, local regulations, and engineering best practices.

Project Coordination

  • Coordinate with project engineers, site supervisors, and contractors to ensure drawing accuracy.
  • Support the preparation of drawings for project proposals, submissions, and tender documentation.
  • Conduct site visits (when required) to take measurements, verify site conditions, and support layout planning.

Documentation & Control

  • Maintain organized records of drawings, versions, and revision logs.
  • Prepare and update drawing registers for project documentation and submission tracking.
  • Ensure all project drawings are properly stored and accessible for internal and client use.

Quality & Compliance

  • Verify that all drawings adhere to applicable electrical and structural standards.
  • Ensure designs meet relevant guidelines (e.g., SEDA, Suruhanjaya Tenaga, TNB, and local authority requirements).

Requirements:

  • Diploma or Certificate in Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Drafting, or related field.
  • Proficient in AutoCAD; knowledge of SketchUp, PVsyst, or Helioscope is an added advantage.
  • 1–3 years of experience in drafting for solar or electrical projects preferred.
  • Good understanding of solar PV system components and installation layouts.
  • Strong attention to detail, accuracy, and documentation discipline.
  • Able to interpret technical drawings and site survey information.
  • Good communication and teamwork skills.

Job Types: Full-time, Permanent

Pay: RM2, RM3,500.00 per month
