Senior Purchasing Executive | Up to RM5500 | Kawasan Perindustrian Larkin

Position: Senior Purchasing Executive

Salary Package: RM3500-RM5500

Working Location: Kawasan Perindustrian Larkin

Company Background: Manufacturers Chinese Pharmaceutical Products

Working Days: Monday to Friday

Working Hours: 8:00am to 5:15pm

Probationary period : 6 months

Annual Leaves Entitlement: 10, 14 & 18 days

Public Holiday: as per government list (16 days)

Performance Bonus : AWS and Performance Bonus

The position will take ownership of strategic procurement, optimize costs and processes while ensure seamless materials flow for Company high-quality production. This role offers the perfect balance of mentorship and leadership, collaborating with cross-functional experts to drive efficiency and compliance in GMP certified environment.

Job Descriptions:

  • Review and process purchase requisitions for raw materials, packaging and indirect materials based on material requirements planning and/or production schedules. - Execute end-to-end procurement cycle Maintain optimal inventory levels to prevent stockouts or excess inventory

  • Develop and maintain supplier database with performance metrics (quality, delivery, pricing)

  • Able to conduct professional business reviews with key suppliers which focus on actionable metrics and forecast alignment

Drive supplier performance and oversee new supplier onboarding from audits to top-management approvals for all materials categories

  • Analyse spends patterns and identifies cost reduction opportunities

  • Negotiate contracts to secure best pricing, payment terms and rebates

  • Monitor commodity price trends and advice on forward buying when advantageous

  • Establish KPIs, training programs and guidelines to build a high-performing purchasing team

  • Attend biweekly production planning meeting to provide input on material lead time and supply constraints

  • Prepare monthly procurement spend reports and matters related to superior

  • Facilitate quality holds and non-conforming material returns and coordinate supplier corrective action request

  • Maintain organised records of supplier qualification Ensure proper documentation for tax/SST exemption

  • Prepare procurement documents for internal/external audits

  • Update and review procurement SOPs as regulatory requirements change

Requirements

  • Bachelor's Degree in Supply Chain, Business Administration or related field

  • At least 5 years in procurement/purchasing (manufacturing environment preferred)

  • Proven success in strategic sourcing, cost reduction and supplier negotiations

  • Experience with ERP system and advanced Excel

  • Strong negotiation, communication and analytical skills

  • Ability to lead and train a team

  • Experience with tax/SST exemption process

  • Familiarity with GMP/ISO standard (nice-to-have)

  • Basic understanding of domestic logistics coordination (nice-to-have)
