Job description

Responsibilities:

a)     Ensure proper upkeep, maintenance and protection of the assets of the estates, including infrastructure - roads, bridges, staff quarters.

b)     Work with relevant personnel to implement systems and enforce new processes and procedures.

c)     Identify and focus on problems and offering necessary solutions for the optimization of the division's profitability.

d)     Manage estates which includes nursery, land preparation, planting, field maintenance, harvesting, transport and infrastructure.

e)     Manage resources and processes in ensuring achievement of FFB production and quality targets and sales.

f)      Lead, supervise, train and assess team members in achieving optimum productivity and work quality.

g)     Provide leadership for effective implementation of business plans and achievement of key performance indicators (KPI) within the environmental and social sustainability standards in line with good plantation practices.

h)     Formulate standard operating procedures (SOP), review and update policies, procedures and systems as well as adopting industry best practices.

i Manage and control all oil palm plantation projects, to formulate and consolidate the operating budgets for these projects as well as to supervise the operational and administrative functions of the estates.

j Ensure operational efficiency of estates.

k)     Ensure compliance with the Internal Audit Reports and other advisers and implementation of recommendations.

l Visit the Estate at least once every month and on need/issue basis as part of the supervision .

m)    Advise the Estate Person-in-charge (PICs) of Oil Palm plantation on technical matters pertaining to sustainable plantation development and management strategies.

n)     Supervise the Estate PICs in their daily key job functions focusing on people productivity, efficiencies on field and management aspects.

o)     Building and facilitating the successful implementation and approval on MSPO certification or any other certification deemed necessary, Human Resource policies, succession planning/build an efficient estates management, ensure the presence of a performance-driven culture, and further guiding the estate management to build and maintain a retention program for the workforce, and ensure a conducive working environment.

p)     Attend to any other duties as may be assigned by the Management from time to time.

Requirements:

  • Bachelor's Degree in Plantation Management or Agriculture or the equivalent.
  • Minimum 10 years of experience in Plantation or estate management.
  • Vast technical skills and agronomic understanding in durian planting.
  • Good negotiation skills & project management skills.
  • High integrity, positive attitude, mission-driven and self-directed.
  • The role involves periodic travel to plantation estates situated in Pahang, Kelantan, and Terengganu to support operational activities and management oversight
