Key Responsibilities:

  1. Cost Accounting:

  2. Prepare and maintain accurate cost records for all departments in the textile manufacturing facility, including production, Labour, overhead, and material costs.

  3. Perform departmental cost analysis, ensuring cost allocations are consistent, accurate, and in line with company policies.
  4. Calculate standard costs for materials, Labour, and overhead, and ensure they are updated regularly to reflect actual costs.

  5. Costing Methods & Data Collection:

  6. Derive, implement, and refine cost accounting methods to accurately collect and analyse data for costing purposes.

  7. Work closely with the operations team to ensure data is correctly collected from production activities, machine usage, and Labour hours for accurate costing.
  8. Develop and maintain cost databases for accurate tracking and analysis of production-related expenses.

  9. Cost Reporting & Analysis:

  10. Prepare detailed monthly, quarterly, and annual cost reports for management review, highlighting variances and areas for cost optimization.

  11. Analyse cost data and trends to provide insights into areas for cost reduction, efficiency improvements, and margin optimization.
  12. Assist in budget preparation and ensure costs are monitored against budgeted figures.

  13. Collaboration & Support:

  14. Collaborate with department heads and factory floor managers to identify and address issues impacting cost structures.

  15. Assist the senior costing manager in developing and implementing cost-saving strategies.
  16. Provide support for audits, both internal and external, ensuring that cost-related data is accurate and transparent.

  17. Process Improvement:

  18. Review and recommend improvements to costing processes and systems to enhance the accuracy and timeliness of reporting.

  19. Continuously improve methods for tracking Labour, material, and overhead costs for better precision and efficiency.

  20. Compliance & Best Practices:

  21. Ensure compliance with accounting standards, regulatory requirements, and company policies.

  22. Stay up to date with industry best practices in cost accounting and implement them in daily operations.

Qualifications:

  • Education: A bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field. Professional certification (e.g., CMA, ACCA) is a plus.

  • Experience:

  • A minimum of 3-5 years of experience in cost accounting within the textile manufacturing industry, preferably in a factory or production environment.

  • Proven experience in developing and implementing cost systems and methods.
  • Experience in handling departmental cost accounting for large-scale manufacturing operations.

  • Skills:

  • Strong knowledge of cost accounting principles and manufacturing cost structures.

  • Proficient in accounting software and Microsoft Excel (advanced level).
  • Ability to perform data analysis, identify trends, and provide actionable insights.
  • Excellent communication and collaboration skills.
  • Attention to detail and strong organizational skills.
