Data Centre Chargeman A0/A1/A4

Job Overview:

Ability to provide continues support to maintain system stability in the mission critical data centre facility. Good knowledge in electrical, mechanical and instrument including BMS and EMS monitoring system, and HVAC chilled water distribution system utilizing water cooled chillers and pumps.

The work-life:

A)     Ensure all electrical equipment's of building sites are always in good working condition.

Ensuring HT & LV equipment`s are checked as per schedule by related competent personnel per the requirements.

Ensuring all equipment`s that required calibration are calibrated on schedule by related competent personnel per the requirements.

Ensure all equipment that required authority inspection are inspected as per requirements.

Ensure Genset systems maintenance, inspection, testing works are carried out on schedule.

B)     Ensure all M&E equipment and systems are working in good condition.

Ensuring that all essential equipment is checked daily according to the check sheet and document per requires. If found any abnormality, report to superior for immediate repair or rectification works.

Checking all M&E equipment to ensure that they are operating within the design specifications. If found any abnormality, report to superior for immediate repair or rectification works.

Performing routine checks on all M&E equipment under scheduled maintenance coverage.

Ensuring all reported defect finding from schedule maintenance are rectified accordingly.   

C)     Ensure all M&E equipment schedule maintenance being carried out effectively.

Ensuring in-house or outsourced technical personnel are carried out all maintenance activities according to plan schedules and the agreement & manufacture requirement.

Ensuring M&E equipment maintenance work on schedule.

Coordinate & supervise vendor to perform schedule maintenance.

Practicing preventive maintenance and corrective maintenance.

D)     Ensure all complaints and breakdowns are attended to on time with comply to committed timeline.

To execute and manage Job Order ticketing on internal and external stakeholders' enquiries related to facilities' equipment, Data Centre equipment rack's information and other general enquiries related to M&E, HVAC operations and Data Centre facilities.

Coordinate manpower to support the Job Order request.

To record and close the Job Order request upon work completion.

Keeping the requesters informed of the status of the Job Order request and acknowledge them when completed.

Monitoring all works done by the vendors or contractors, chargeman and technicians to ensure work quality and performance.

Arrange and ensuring all rectification works carry out without disrupting the critical data centre operations. 

E)      Safety management of all staff and vendors or contractors while performing repairing or inspection works.

Maintaining departmental policies and procedures, objectives, quality assurance programs and safety standards.

Adhering to safety precautions whilst carrying out daily tasks to avoid any accidents/injury.

Attending safety and health talk through briefings and trainings.

Assessing operation & safety risk of proposed work before work permit approved.

F)      Other functions.

1. To manage and overcome day-to-day challenges, to contribute valuable support to achieve management target with minimum supervision.
2. To manage and provide timely updates, overcome issues related to work progress, incidents, and corrective or preventive maintenance activity.
3. To support and standby on-site as and when there is operation support needed.
4. To manage and execute day-to-day work scope or roles and responsibility assigned by superior.
5. To manage, update internal & external emails and update portals with work orders and other associated documentation.

To be considered, you'll need:

1. Candidate must possess at least SPM, STPM, Diploma, orany relevant qualification with a minimum of 3 years of working experience in data centre or similar working environment.
2. Must possess Suruhanjaya Tenaga certified chargeman certificate in Low Voltage category (A0, A1 or A4).
3. Require working in shift, alternate 12 hours shift (morning & night) environment.
4. Strong knowledge in electrical (electrical distribution, standby generator system, static and dynamic UPS system, critical and non-critical power distribution system, corrective and preventive maintenance activity) and able to troubleshoot issues to identify and escalate for further action or call-in external support from contractor and/or;
5. Strong knowledge in mechanical (air conditioning system, CRAC, PECS, In-row cooling, split units, air-cooled and water-cooled chiller system, pumps, BMS and EMS, DDC, PLC control system) and able to troubleshoot issues to identify and escalate for further action or call-in external support from contractor.
6. Good data interpreting skills and computer literate with knowledgeable in Microsoft Excel, Word, and Power Point (Intermediate level or above).
7. Experience in AutoCAD will be a plus-point for consideration.

12. Able to work under pressure and independently.
13. Able to travel to multiple sites when required.
