About the Role

We are looking for a skilled and passionate Yakitori Chef to join our culinary team. The ideal candidate should have experience in Japanese cuisine—especially in preparing and grilling yakitori—and a strong commitment to maintaining food quality, presentation, and consistency.

Key Responsibilities

  • Prepare and grill various yakitori dishes (chicken, seafood, and vegetables) to perfection using traditional Japanese techniques.
  • Ensure all ingredients are properly prepared, marinated, and cooked according to restaurant standards.
  • Maintain cleanliness and hygiene of the grilling area and kitchen equipment at all times.
  • Monitor inventory levels and assist in ordering ingredients when necessary.
  • Work closely with the kitchen team to ensure smooth operations and timely service.
  • Uphold high standards of food safety, quality, and presentation.
  • Contribute ideas for menu improvement or seasonal yakitori specials.

Requirements

  • Proven experience as a Yakitori Chef or in a Japanese restaurant (grill section experience preferred).
  • Knowledge of traditional Japanese grilling techniques and ingredients.
  • Strong attention to detail, with excellent knife and grilling skills.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced kitchen environment.
  • Team player with a positive attitude and a passion for Japanese cuisine.
  • Willing to work on weekends, public holidays, and during peak hours.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: RM3, RM5,500.00 per month
