Key ResponsibilitiesInternal Audit & Compliance (60%)

  • Develop and implement the internal audit plan for operational, financial, and compliance audits.
  • Conduct periodic audits across departments to assess effectiveness of internal controls, risk management, and governance.
  • Review and analyse company policies, SOPs, and workflows; recommend enhancements to strengthen internal controls.
  • Prepare comprehensive audit reports outlining findings, risks, non-compliance issues, and corrective action recommendations.
  • Monitor and follow up on audit findings to ensure timely rectification by relevant departments.
  • Ensure the company remains compliant with regulatory requirements, including BNM, AMLA/AML-CFT, PDPA, and internal policies.
  • Perform internal risk assessments to identify potential areas of concern or process gaps.
  • Assist in drafting and updating internal policies, SOPs, compliance checklists, and risk-management frameworks.

Credit Processing & Evaluation (40%)

  • Perform preliminary screening and credit evaluation of applicants to determine eligibility, creditworthiness, and risk profile.
  • Review completeness of documents submitted for credit applications (e.g., financial statements, bank statements, CCRIS/CTOS reports, business records).
  • Conduct background checks and due diligence on applicants, including KYC verification and AML/CFT screening.
  • Analyse financial data and cash flow to assess repayment capacity and recommend suitable financing packages.
  • Prepare credit assessment recommendations and present findings to the Credit Committee for approval.
  • Ensure all credit files are properly documented, stored, and maintained in line with internal policies for audit trail and regulatory requirements.
  • Coordinate with Sales/Business Development team to support efficient processing while adhering to risk policies.
  • Ensure timely turnaround of credit applications to meet service-level standards.

Additional Duties

  • Participate in internal process improvement initiatives to enhance workflow efficiency, accuracy, and governance.
  • Provide training or briefing to staff on compliance, risk management, and internal control procedures when necessary.
  • Support management with any ad-hoc tasks related to internal audit, compliance, or credit functions.

Key Requirements

  • Degree in Accounting/Finance/Business/Banking or related fields.
  • Strong analytical, critical-thinking, and problem-solving skills.
  • Good understanding of internal audit, risk management, and credit assessment principles.
  • Familiar with AML/CFT, PDPA, and regulatory compliance (advantage if experienced in financial services).
  • High level of integrity, confidentiality, and professionalism.
