About the role

We are seeking an experienced Quantity Surveyor to join our team at consultant firm in Kota Kinabalu, Sabah. As a Quantity Surveyor, you will play a pivotal role in managing the financial aspects of construction projects, ensuring cost-effectiveness and adherence to budgets.

What you'll be doing

  • Preparing and analysing detailed cost estimates and budgets for construction projects
  • Negotiating and administering contracts with suppliers and subcontractors
  • Monitoring and controlling costs throughout the project lifecycle
  • Preparing and finalising interim and final accounts
  • Providing expert advice and guidance to project teams on all financial matters
  • Identifying potential cost savings and implementing cost-effective solutions
  • Ensuring compliance with relevant industry regulations and standards

What we're looking for

  • Diploma or Degree in Quantity Surveying or a related field
  • At least 3 years of experience as a Quantity Surveyor in the construction industry
  • Strong understanding of construction contracts, procurement, and cost management processes
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to work under pressure
  • Proficient in using quantity surveying software and financial management tools
  • Excellent communication and negotiation skills, with the ability to work effectively with diverse teams
