What's the job?
Drive growth and operational excellence for our travel insurance business in Malaysia by managing key travel agency partnerships and expanding market presence. You will lead end-to-end onboarding, ensure governance compliance, and collaborate across teams to deliver seamless execution. Success in this role hinges on strong relationship management, commercial acumen, and the ability to navigate complex onboarding and governance processes.
You will:
- Manage and grow a portfolio of travel agency partners across Malaysia through proactive account servicing and relationship management.
- Identify and drive new business development opportunities, maintaining a strong pipeline of prospects.
- Lead the full end-to-end onboarding process for new partners, including governance clearance, registration, and contractual setup.
- Ensure smooth program setup including backend system configuration, plan code creation, and account setup.
- Deliver timely and effective support to partners, including regular business reviews, face-to-face engagements, and product training.
- Provide periodic business updates on partnership performance, highlighting growth opportunities and potential risks.
- Collaborate with internal stakeholders (e.g. Business Operations, Client Policy Services, IT, Compliance, Legal, Marketing) to ensure seamless execution of strategic initiatives and day-to-day operations.
- Raise red flags and implement prompt remediation actions to ensure sustainable business growth.
- Explore and maximize cross-sell opportunities across the partner network.
- Ensure full adherence to internal governance frameworks through proactive project management and stakeholder engagement.
What are we looking for?
You will have a Bachelor's degree in Business, Marketing, or a related field.
10–15 years of experience in sales, account management, or business development, preferably in insurance, travel, or financial services.
Strong proficiency in spoken English, Malay, and a Chinese dialect (Mandarin or Cantonese) will be highly advantageous.
Proven success in business development and partnership management within the travel industry, including managing travel agents, tour operators, or OTAs.
Strong network and established relationships within the Malaysian travel ecosystem.
Demonstrated ability to meet or exceed sales targets and drive revenue growth.
Strong commercial acumen with the ability to analyze market trends and develop effective go-to-market strategies.
Proficiency in using data and analytics tools (e.g., Excel, Power BI, Salesforce) to inform decisions and track performance.
Familiarity with digital distribution models and experience supporting digital onboarding or e-commerce integrations.
Strong negotiation skills and experience managing contracts and commercial agreements.
Excellent stakeholder management and influencing skills, with experience working in matrix or regional environments.
Strong project management capabilities and the ability to manage multiple priorities effectively.
Experience navigating governance, compliance, and operational frameworks in regulated industries.
