Job Responsibilities:

  • Provide professional counselling services to students individually or in groups on matters relating to personal, social, or academic well-being.
  • Plan, develop, and implement welfare and mental health programs that promote emotional resilience, positive mindset, and healthy lifestyle among students.
  • Conduct regular student welfare assessments and prepare reports on students' psychosocial needs, risk factors, and support strategies.
  • Serve as the first point of contact for students facing welfare concerns including accommodation, financial hardship, interpersonal conflict, or adjustment issues.
  • Liaise with faculties, residential colleges, and relevant departments to identify and support students in need of welfare assistance or counselling intervention.
  • Develop preventive and awareness campaigns on mental health, stress management, bullying prevention, and suicide awareness in collaboration with relevant agencies.
  • Coordinate student experience initiatives such as peer support programs, community engagement, volunteerism, and student well-being campaigns.
  • Maintain accurate and confidential records of all counselling sessions and welfare cases in accordance with professional ethics and institutional policy.
  • Facilitate crisis intervention and referral processes for students requiring external professional assistance.
  • Prepare reports, proposals, and evaluations for management and compliance purposes (e.g. MQA, ISO, internal audits).
  • Participate in university committees related to student affairs, welfare, and experience enhancement.
  • Represent the department in events, workshops, and professional networks related to student counselling and welfare.
  • Perform other related duties as assigned to support the mission and objectives of the Student Experience Services Department.

Job Requirements:

  • Bachelor/Master Degree in Counselling or related field
  • Must be a licensed and registered counsellor with [Lembaga Kaunselor Malaysia]
  • Minimum of 2–5 years of relevant experience in counselling, student welfare, or student support services.
  • Excellent communication skills
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to connect empathetically with students from diverse backgrounds.
  • A caring, resilient, and student-centered attitude, committed to promoting student wellbeing and a positive campus experience

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: RM2, RM3,000.00 per month
