About the Role: Senior Merchandiser (Fashion)
To be responsible for the strategic direction of product selection, ensuring a cohesive and professional fashion curation across all categories. The role will involve in-depth market analysis, trend forecasting, and collaborating with the merchandising team to optimize product assortment and flow. The specialist should possess strong spatial visualization skills, with experience in product layouts, buying planograms, and visual merchandising elements. By leveraging his/her expertise, it will elevate the brand's aesthetic, influence significantly customer purchasing decisions, and drive higher performance in full price sell-through across categories.
KEY AREAS OF RESPONSIBILITIES
Strategic Style & Product Curation
•Market Analysis & Trend Forecasting: Conduct advanced analysis of fashion trends, competitor offerings, and consumer behavior to inform buying strategies for all product categories.
•Cross-Category Merchandise Strategy: Develop and implement a cohesive style strategy for purchasing and curating merchandise that spans multiple categories ensuring brand integrity and a unified aesthetic.
•Product Assortment Development: Collaborate with the buying team to build a balanced and fashion-forward product assortment that meets regional market demands and brand objectives.
•Pricing Strategy & Positioning: Work with the merchandising team to align retail pricing and product positioning with the brand's premium image and market placement.
•Storytelling & Assortment Building: Build story-driven assortments and prepare presentation decks for stakeholders to ensure alignment on brand narrative and product direction.
Reporting & Performance Analysis
•Seasonal Sell-Through & Performance Reporting: Analyze seasonal sell-through data and other key performance indicators to assess the success of style strategies and identify opportunities for improvement.
•Trend & Performance Insights: Prepare and present detailed reports on fashion trends, product performance, and market insights to senior management and brand partners.
•Aged Inventory & Sell-Through Enhancement: Propose innovative solutions to increase the sell-through of new and aged merchandise, focusing on strategic styling and promotional initiatives.
Brand & Vendor Collaboration
•Vendor & Principal Relations: Serve as a key point of contact for principals and vendors regarding style direction, product quality, and assortment planning.
•Product Quality & Integrity: Supervise and monitor product quality across all regions, ensuring all merchandise aligns with the brand's high standards.
KEY REQUIREMENTS
Education: Minimum Master's Degree in International Fashion Brand Design and Management.
Professional Experience: Minimum 2-3 years of product management experience in luxury/premium lifestyle brands , including apparels and footwear categories. International experience, preferably with brands with US market exposure.
Personal attributes: Strong fashion flair, good interpersonal skills, pleasant personality, excellent communicator, proficient in computer skills.
Language: Fluent English and both in written and spoken. Knowledge of other language is added advantage.
