Company Description

UKM Medical Molecular Biology Institute (UMBI) was established by the university in 2003 to enhance research in molecular medicine. UMBI is recognized as a Higher Institution Centre of Excellence (HICoE) and focuses on cancer biomarkers through its critical agenda program. UMBI has key laboratories providing analyses in genomics, transcriptomics and proteomics. The institute offers MSc and PhD programs in molecular medicine and is currently spearheading The Malaysian Cohort project.

Role Description

This is a full-time on-site role for a PhD Graduate Student. The role involves conducting research in molecular medicine, specifically with a focus on immune biomarkers. The PhD Graduate Student will be responsible for conducting experiments, analyzing data, and presenting research findings. They will also be responsible for writing scientific papers and participating in national and international conferences.

Qualifications

  • Malaysian
  • Has obtained a Master's degree in Molecular Medicine/Biotechnology/Biochemistry or related fields
  • Have obtained a Master's degree in molecular medicine from a recognized university
  • Experience in cell culture and immunology is an advantage
  • Good verbal and written communication skills, including the ability to write scientific papers and give scientific presentations
  • Able to work independently and a good team player
  • Proactive
  • Proficiency in English & Malay is required (written & oral)
  • Able to start immediately
