· Assisting with the selection of environmentally friendly construction materials.

· Developing and implementing programs to reduce the project's carbon footprint.

· Promoting the use of renewable energy sources on the construction site.

· Participating in community engagement activities related to environmental sustainability.

Requirements: -

· Bachelor's degree (or equivalent) in Environmental Science, Civil/Environmental Engineering, or a related technical discipline. For example, a job listing required a "minimum Degree in science, technologies, or engineering" for a Site Environmental Officer.

· Min 2 years' experience of relevant experience in environmental management, preferably in a construction.

· Proven ability to carry out on-site environmental monitoring, inspections, reporting and ensure compliance with regulations (such as the Department of Environment Malaysia (DOE)'s environmental quality legislation).

· Possession of relevant competency certification(s) from DOE/EiMAS or equivalent. Common ones referenced include:

o    CePSWaM (Certified Environmental Professional in Scheduled Waste Management) — requirement or strong advantage.

o    CePEOEIA (Certified Professional Environmental Officer in EIA) or other competency certificates in erosion, sediment & storm water control.

· Knowledge of relevant Malaysian laws/regulations such as the Environmental Quality Act 1974 (EQA) and associated regulations (e.g., Erosion & Sediment Control, Scheduled Waste) is highly desirable.

· Familiarity with Green Building Index (GBI) certification processes.

· GBI Facilitator (GBIF) certification is an advantage.

· Experience assisting with GBI documentation, assessment submission, and compliance.

· Knowledge of sustainability principles, energy efficiency, and waste reduction strategies.

· Good communication skills with proficiency in written and spoken English.

· Contract Basis.
