Caretaker

The job scope for a caretaker in elderly home care generally includes:

• Personal Care Assistance: Helping clients with daily activities such as bathing, dressing, grooming, and toileting.
• Mobility Support: Assisting with walking, transferring from bed to chair, and using mobility aids to ensure safety.
• Meal Preparation: Planning and preparing nutritious meals according to dietary restrictions or preferences, and ensuring proper hydration.
• Medication Reminders: Reminding clients to take their medications on schedule and monitoring for any side effects (note: caretakers typically do not administer medications unless trained).
• Household Tasks: Performing light housekeeping duties such as laundry, cleaning, and maintaining a safe living environment.
• Companionship: Providing emotional support and companionship, engaging clients in conversation, activities, and social outings to reduce loneliness.
• Monitoring Health: Observing and reporting any changes in clients' health or behavior to family members or healthcare providers.
