1) Project and Governance

  • Oversee and drive IT projects to ensure timely completion and alignment with business objectives.
  • Design and implement IT communication strategies to improve user awareness and engagement.
  • Support the preparation and analysis of monthly, annual, and ad-hoc IT performance reports to inform decision-making.
  • Contribute to IT governance by developing, enforcing, and maintaining IT policies and best practices.
  • Maintain an IT risk register to identify, assess, and mitigate potential threats to IT operations.

2) Policy and Planning

  • Assist and support the Manager, Information Technology, to implement and to ensure compliance with all the policies relating to Information Technology.

3) Resource Management

  • Establish and maintain materials and equipment storage.
  • Monitor material usage and check deliveries for the University.
  • Ensure system compatibility and maintenance in line with the University's Standard Operating Environment.

4) Vendor Relationship Management

  • Identify and procure required items by obtaining quotations, while maintaining positive relationships with vendors.

5) Reports

  • Prepare reports and provide accurate information as and when required by the Management.

JOB REQUIREMENTS

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Ccience, IT, or other related discipline from a recognised institution with 3–5 years of relevant experience, including at least one year in a supervisory role
  • Must hold at least one active professional IT certification (e.g., PMP, Prince2, COBIT, CRISC, CISA, ITIL) in areas such as project management, governance, networking, servers, cloud, or security.
  • Minimum of 4 years' experience in any of these areas:- IT project management, IT service management, IT governance, or IT risk management.
  • Proven ability to lead complex IT projects, manage cross-functional teams, and deliver business-focused technology solutions, with familiarity in project management tools (e.g., Jira, Trello, MS Project)
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills, including presenting IT policies and preparing governance reports.
  • Ability to analyse complex IT challenges, propose innovative solutions, and drive continuous improvement in IT services.
  • Well-organized with strong documentation skills, able to maintain accurate IT policies, reports, and service management records
  • Strong knowledge of IT governance principles, regulatory requirements, risk management, and cybersecurity best practices. Experience with frameworks such as ISO 27001, NIST, and COBIT is a plus.
  • Familiarity with IT infrastructure, cloud computing, cybersecurity, networking, and web technologies. Hands-on experience with ITSM tools is an advantage.
