Job description

Various duties of Vet Techs: (Includes, but not limited to,)

Monitor, examine, and care for animals after surgery
Maintain and sterilize surgical instruments and equipment
Clean and disinfect cages, kennels, examining and operating rooms at all times
Help provide emergency first aid to sick or injured animals
Give medication or immunizations that veterinarians prescribe
Do routine laboratory tests, such as taking x-rays, blood labs etc
Feed and bathe animals
Collect samples such as blood, urine, or tissue for testing
Select and administer medications, oral / injections and other treatments
Administer and monitor animals under anaesthesia
Use, sterilize, and maintain medical instruments and equipment
Handle and restrain animals during exams, procedures, and tests
Administer basic first aid to sick or injured animals
Keep and interpret paper or electronic medical records
Explain procedures, tests, and other health indicators to animal owners
Monitor and care for animals during and after surgery
Conduct monthly stock-take for meds and consumables and update quantity for orders
Maintaining the cleanliness of the premise at all times.
