Position Title: Head of HR (East Asia)
Reporting line: CEO (East Asia)
Location: East Asia
- POSITION SUMMARY
The Head of HR for East Asia will lead the strategic and operational HR agenda across multiple countries in the region, including SEA (Thailand, Malaysia, Singapore), Japan and Greater China (Hong Kong, Taiwan). This role will work closely with East Asia leadership team and be responsible for aligning HR strategies with business goals, driving cultural transformation, and ensuring compliance with local labor laws and global HR standards.
- DIMENSIONS OF ROLE
As the HR Director, your role is to align HR strategies with business goals while fostering a culture of excellence and CARE. Responsibilities include strategic HR consultation, talent management, employee relations, performance management, organizational development, HR policy compliance, and recruitment management.
Your leadership will shape the company's success by ensuring HR practices support organizational objectives effectively.
- KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
Strategic Leadership
- Develop and execute HR strategies aligned with regional business objectives.
- Act as a strategic advisor to senior leadership on HR trends, risks, and opportunities.
- Provide strategic guidance and support to property HR leaders on policies, procedures, and best practices.
- Lead and oversee regional HR projects in collaboration with corporate HR to support growth and innovation
- Lead organizational change initiatives and workforce transformation.
Talent Management
- Oversee recruitment and talent acquisition strategies across East Asia.
- Drive leadership development, succession planning, and career pathing and performance management.
- Champion employee engagement and retention programs.
Compensation & Benefits
- Design and implement competitive compensation and benefits frameworks tailored to local markets.
- Ensure alignment with global C&B policies while addressing regional nuances.
Employee Relations & Compliance
- Ensure HR policies and practices comply with labor laws across jurisdictions.
- Manage complex employee relations issues and foster a positive work culture.
- Lead Diversity, Equity & Inclusion (DEI) initiatives.
HR Operations
- Streamline HR processes for operational efficiency across countries.
- Leverage HR technology and analytics for data-driven decision-making.
Collaborate with global HR teams to ensure consistency and best practices.
ORGANISATION SUMMARY
The client is the pioneer of assistance and has been providing best in class services for 60 years. Our core services include Travel & Medical Assistance and Home & Motor Assistance.
SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE
Bachelor's or master's degree in human resources, Business Administration, or related field.
- Minimum 10+ years of HR leadership experience, with at least 5 years in a regional or international role.
- Proven experience in managing cross-cultural teams and navigating complex regulatory environments.
- In-depth knowledge of HR principles, practices, and local employment regulations in countries within the region.
- Strong leadership, interpersonal, and communication skills to build trust and collaboration at all levels.
- Demonstrated ability to drive strategic HR initiatives while balancing operational excellence.
- High degree of resilience and adaptability in fast-paced, complex environments.
- Proficiency with HRIS systems, HR software, and Microsoft Office Suite.
- Willingness to travel extensively across the region to support properties and new openings.
- Fluent in English; additional Asian languages are a plus.
Job Types: Full-time, Permanent
Pay: RM30, RM35,000.00 per month
