Sr Mechanical Design Engineer- Mechanical

Job descriptions:

Technical

  • Design and development: Lead the design of mechanical systems, components, and products from concept to production, using CAD software for 3D modeling.
  • Analysis and simulation: Perform detailed design calculations, simulations, and feasibility studies to analyze performance and optimize designs.
  • Prototyping and testing: Oversee and participate in prototype development and testing, and conduct validation and verification testing of components.
  • Collaboration: Work with cross-functional teams, including other engineers, project managers, manufacturing, sales, and clients, to ensure designs meet specifications and project goals.
  • Documentation and compliance: Prepare detailed engineering drawings, specifications, and Bills of Materials (BOMs). Ensure all designs meet regulatory and industry standards.
  • Troubleshooting and improvement: Troubleshoot design and manufacturing issues, investigate root causes of defects, and implement improvements to existing products.
  • Mentorship: Guide and mentor less experienced engineers, and lead engineering design reviews.
  • Project management: Manage project elements, ensuring they are delivered within deadline, budget, and other constraints.

Required skills, education and experienceBachelor's or Master's degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related field.

  • Previous experience as a mechanical design engineer or machine designer.
  • Proficiency with CAD and simulation software (e.g., Solid Works, Creo )
  • Familiarity with design principles like Design for Manufacturability (DFM) and Design for Assembly (DFA).
  • Understanding of design control processes, including risk analysis and failure mode and effects analysis (FMEA) is an added advantage.
