Experienced and highly competent Chargeman to oversee and manage all aspects of electrical and facilities operations within the manufacturing plant. The ideal candidate must have strong leadership capabilities, technical expertise, and a solid understanding of plant utilities, with a particular focus on air compressor systems and chillers. The role requires hands-on involvement in electrical preventive maintenance, team supervision, compliance with safety regulations, and participation in management reporting and KPI reviews.

Key Resposibilities

Electrical & Facility Maintenance

1. Perform all safety precautions and preventive maintenance on Low Voltage (LV) and 11KV electrical installations and distribution systems.
2. Conduct daily inspections and checks of:

· Switchboards

· Circuit breakers

· Feeder pillars

· Generator sets

· Switching tools

· Other power and electrical tools

· Record observations in the Chargeman Daily Logbook.

1. Ensure that all machinery and utility electrical supplies are safe, compliant, and operational.
2. Plan, coordinate, and execute all preventive and corrective maintenance activities related to facilities and equipment.

Utilities System Oversight

1. Lead and manage operations of plant utilities such as:

· HVAC

· Compressed air systems

· Chillers

· Boilers

· Industrial gases

· Firefighting systems and associated electrical infrastructure

Team Leadership & Communication

1. Supervise and lead a team of technicians and support staff for efficient facility operations.
2. Delegate tasks effectively, ensure proper training, and provide performance feedback.
3. Conduct weekly and monthly KPI meetings with internal teams and management to review performance, issues, and improvement plans.
4. Work collaboratively with cross-functional teams to support production and ensure operational excellence.

Regulatory Compliance & Documentation

1. Ensure adherence to regulatory requirements including Occupational Safety and Health (OSH) and Environmental System Controls.
2. Maintain and update Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) related to facility engineering and safety compliance.
3. Liaise with external utility providers such as TNB and ensure compliance with relevant government and statutory regulations.
4. Ensure timely annual renewal of Chargeman BO certification as per Energy Commission regulations.

Continuous Improvement & Reporting

1. Develop and implement energy-saving and cost-reduction programs, especially related to electricity usage.
2. Ensure the facility meets quality, operational, and environmental standards.
3. Prepare, review, and present facility maintenance reports to management on a weekly and monthly basis.

Requirements

1.    Certification:

Chargeman BO 11 KV (High Voltage) competency certificate issued by the Energy Commission (Suruhanjaya Tenaga).

2.    Experience

Minimum 5 years of experience in a manufacturing environment, preferably within the FMCG industry.

3.    Technical Skills

· Strong hands-on experience in air compressor systems and chiller maintenance/operations.

· Proficient in general electrical engineering systems and troubleshooting.

4.    Leadership

Demonstrated experience in team management, conflict resolution, and leading maintenance teams.

5.    Reporting & Communication:

· Familiar with preparing management reports, maintenance schedules, and KPIs.

· Actively involved in weekly/monthly KPI meetings and performance tracking.

6.    Soft Skills:

· Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.

· Ability to work under pressure, manage tight deadlines, and maintain a high level of professionalism.
