Job Title: Solar Sales Engineer

Department: Solar Energy Division

Location: Seri Kembangan / Site-based (as required)

Reporting To: Solar Project Manager / Sales Director

Job Summary

The Solar Sales Engineer is responsible for promoting and selling solar energy solutions to residential, commercial, and industrial clients. This role involves technical proposal preparation, client relationship management, and collaboration with project and engineering teams to ensure successful project delivery from inquiry to handover.

Key Responsibilities
  • Identify, prospect, and develop new business opportunities for solar energy systems.
  • Conduct site assessments, energy audits, and feasibility studies to design suitable solar solutions.
  • Prepare and present technical and commercial proposals to clients.
  • Collaborate with the design and engineering team to ensure system designs meet client requirements and regulatory standards.
  • Manage end-to-end sales activities including quotation, negotiation, contract closure, and project handover.
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with key customers, consultants, and suppliers.
  • Keep up to date with market trends, competitors, and new technologies in renewable energy.
  • Support marketing and tender activities, including proposal submissions and bid documentation.
  • Ensure compliance with company policies, safety standards, and industry regulations.
Requirements
  • Bachelor's Degree or Diploma in Electrical, Mechanical, Renewable Energy Engineering, or related field.
  • Minimum 2–4 years of experience in solar PV system sales, design, or technical support.
  • Good understanding of PV system design principles, inverters, panels, and BOS components.
  • Strong communication and negotiation skills with a customer-oriented mindset.
  • Proficient in AutoCAD, PVsyst, or equivalent solar design software (advantageous).
  • Able to work independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced environment.
  • Possess own transport and willing to travel to client sites or project locations.
Preferred Attributes
  • Experience in dealing with CIDB, SEDA, TNB, and other relevant authorities.
  • Familiar with EPC, O&M, and solar project lifecycle.
  • Fluency in English, Bahasa Malaysia, and Mandarin is an added advantage.
