About the role

We are seeking a talented and driven Mechanical Engineer - Design / Mechincal Engineer - Engineering & Detailing to join our team at BE Automation Sdn Bhd in Kuala Lumpur. In this full-time position, you will be responsible for designing and detailing mechanical systems that are essential to our engineering solutions. Your expertise and innovative approach will be crucial in driving the success of our projects and contributing to the growth of our company.

Job Responsibilities:

1. Design assembly structures based on the process flow and manufacturing requirements of non-standard equipment.
2. Design automated warehouse logistics equipment, including conveyors, roller systems, lifts, pallet de-stackers, and other related machinery
3. Communicate with customers on technical matters, including the exchange of design information, release of product drawings, and preparation of other design-related documents.
4. Manage technical coordination during the initial stages of new projects and provide corresponding technical support and services to customers in the later stages.

Job Requirements:

1. Experienced in non-standard equipment mechanical design, with the ability to work independently on designs and select appropriate mechanical and actuating components.
2. Proficient in using SolidWorks and AutoCAD drafting software.
3. Independently complete mechanical structure designs and part drawings, including designs related to conveyors, lifts, and similar equipment;
4. Evaluate functional mechanisms, independently select standard components, and perform design parameter calculations. Responsible for collecting, organizing, and archiving mechanical and graphic documents, annotating drawings, and preparing BOMs;
5. Guide assembly workers during equipment installation, promptly revise any unreasonable designs, and ensure project completion.
6. Willingness to travel to client sites as required.
7. Must be proficient in both English and Chinese.

Qualifications:

1. Diploma or above in Mechanical Design and Manufacturing, Mechatronics, Mechanical Engineering, or related fields;
2. Possess more than 2 years of experience in mechanical design and R&D in the four-way shuttle automated warehouse or related automated storage equipment industry. Candidates with successful experience leading or participating in multiple four-way shuttle warehouse projects involving design, development, commissioning, and maintenance are preferred.
3. Familiar with the working principles, structural features, and process flow of automated warehouses. Proficient in the design and selection of key components such as racking systems and conveyor systems. Solid understanding of tolerance fits and material mechanical properties, with the ability to perform strength and rigidity calculations and structural optimization for components.
4. Strong team spirit, able to collaborate closely with electrical engineers, automation engineers, and other cross-functional teams to accomplish project tasks. Possess good communication and coordination skills, capable of effective technical communication and interaction with suppliers and customers, accurately understanding requirements and providing technical support.
5. Strong learning ability and innovative mindset, able to keep up with the latest technological developments in the industry and continuously learn and apply new design concepts and methods.
6. Responsible, meticulous, and detail-oriented, with strong professional ethics and a sense of responsibility, and able to work under pressure.
