Income Auditor

  • Revenue Reconciliation: Verify and reconcile daily revenue reports from all hotel outlets (Rooms, F&B, Spa, etc.) against Point of Sale (POS) and Property Management System (PMS) backups.
  • Audit & Investigation: Conduct a detailed audit of guest ledger activity, ensuring all revenue is correctly posted, balanced, and supported by authorized documentation (vouchers, credit card slips).
  • Discrepancy Resolution: Investigate and document all out-of-balance conditions, ensuring timely and proper correcting entries are posted before the daily revenue close.
  • Credit Control: Review daily credit card summaries and batch transfers, ensuring reconciliation with bank statements and compliance with hotel credit policies.
  • Reporting: Prepare and distribute daily audit summaries and assist the Financial Controller with month-end revenue closing procedures.
  • This position reports directly to the Financial Controller

Qualifications

  • Diploma/ Degree in Accounting or Finance
  • Minimum of 1-2 years of experience in Hotel Accounting/Auditing, with a proven track record in Night Audit or Income Audit.
  • Certification in Data Protection (e.g., CIPP/E, CIPM, or relevant local DPO certification) is added advantage
  • Good command of written and spoken English and Bahasa Malaysia. Able to communicate in Mandarin will be an advantage.
  • Proficiency with hotel systems (PMS, POS) and strong analytical skills in Excel.

Skills & Competencies:

  • Integrity and Confidentiality: Must possess the highest level of discretion due to handling sensitive financial and personal data.
  • Analytical Acumen: Exceptional attention to detail for auditing and the ability to interpret complex legal/regulatory text.
  • Communication: Excellent written and verbal skills to explain complex audit findings and legal requirements to non-specialist staff.
  • Proactive Approach: Ability to take initiative in identifying and addressing compliance gaps before they become incidents.
