POSITION: First Level Executive, Internal Sustainability | CSO's Office

ROLE PURPOSE

Assist Manager in driving strategies and implementation of the Bank's internal sustainability projects and initiatives to achieve Net Zero BNM, with emphasis on development, analysis and reporting of the Bank's carbon emission targets and transition plan

PRINCIPAL ACCOUNTABILITIES

  1. Greenhouse Gas (GHG) Accounting & Physical Operations Carbon Emission Data Management

  2. Develop and maintain the Bank's carbon emission database through BNM Corporate Emission Repository System (BCERS), including datasets and emission factors necessary in carbon emission accounting.

  3. Collaborate with relevant stakeholders to ensure consistency, accuracy, and completeness in the capturing of the Bank's carbon emission activity data according to GHG protocol, as well as performing monthly audit on datapoints availability (raw data/bills) and readiness.
  4. Undertake analysis, develop dashboards and ensure timely periodic reporting to management/ the board and annual report write up.

  5. Ensure the Bank is abreast with sustainability standards, guidance and best practices through desktop study, materiality assessment, benchmarking and engagements.

  6. Advisory

  7. Act as a reference point within the Bank to provide advisory and support for sustainability related projects and initiatives.

  8. Project Management

  9. Coordinate and monitor the Bank's internal sustainability projects and initiatives.

  10. Provide periodic updates to management on the progress of the Bank's internal sustainability projects and initiatives.

  11. Undertake and review the Bank's climate target setting and climate-related risk assessment in line with international guidance.

  12. Stakeholder Engagement & Capacity building

  13. Facilitate building of internal capacity, knowledge and skill set of CSG members' sustainability skill set through development/organization of training roadmap, training sessions and workshops.

  14. Keep abreast with related government and international policies, regulations and legislation pertaining to sustainability

QUALIFICATIONS & EXPERIENCE

Academic Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in relevant field preferably in Environmental Engineering, Chemical Engineering, Environmental Science, Sustainability Management or at least 10 years industrial experience in building services and operation, safety, health & environment (SHE), or business operations.

Experience:

  • Minimum 2 years of working experience, involvement in climate and environmental work and project management preferred.
