Key Responsibilities:

Material Sourcing:

  • Identify, evaluate, and select suppliers based on price, quality, delivery, and service capabilities.
  • Negotiate contracts, prices, and delivery terms with suppliers to secure favorable terms.
  • Develop and maintain strong supplier relationships and conduct periodic supplier performance reviews.
  • Source alternative suppliers or materials to mitigate supply risks.

Material Planning:

  • Develop and implement material planning strategies aligned with production schedules and demand forecasts.
  • Prepare and maintain accurate material requirement plans (MRP) to ensure adequate inventory levels.
  • Coordinate with production, warehouse, and logistics teams to manage material flow and minimize delays.
  • Monitor inventory levels, lead times, and consumption patterns to avoid shortages or excess stock.

Coordination and Reporting:

  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams including production, quality, and finance to support operational goals.
  • Prepare reports on procurement activities, inventory status, supplier performance, and cost analysis.
  • Assist in budgeting and cost control related to materials procurement.

Compliance and Continuous Improvement:

  • Ensure compliance with company policies, industry standards, and legal requirements in sourcing activities.
  • Identify opportunities for process improvement and implement best practices in sourcing and planning.
