Job Overview:

The Sales Engineer will be responsible for growing business footprint in Bintulu by identifying opportunities, providing technical solutions for sealing, gaskets, pump/valve refurbishment, and after-sales support. This role requires a blend of technical knowledge with commercial acumen, and strong customer-facing skills.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Identify, develop, and manage sales opportunities in Bintulu state for business's core products & services
  • Liaise with clients in relevant sectors to understand their needs and propose appropriate solutions.
  • Prepare technical proposals, quotations, and conduct technical presentations.
  • Work with internal technical / engineering / maintenance teams to ensure that customer specifications are met
  • Perform site visits, surveys, and inspections to assess client requirements, provide recommendations, and follow through on installations or maintenance works.
  • After‑sales support: ensure customer satisfaction, follow up on performance, address product or service issues, manage maintenance / refurbishment schedules.
  • Meet or exceed sales targets (monthly, quarterly, annually) as set by management.
  • Maintain accurate sales records, forecasts, customer databases and report regularly to the GM

Requirements:

  • Diploma or Degree in Mechanical Engineering, Chemical Engineering, or related technical field.
  • Previous experience (1‑3 years or more) in technical sales, especially in industrial equipment sectors preferred. Experience in Oil & Gas / Marine is a plus.
  • Technical understanding of the products
  • Good interpersonal, communication, presentation, and negotiation skills.
  • Self‑motivated, result oriented, ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
  • Willingness to travel within Bintulu
  • Valid Malaysian driving licence and own transport preferred.
  • Proficiency in Bahasa Malaysia and English (both written and spoken).

Job Type: Permanent

Pay: RM5, RM6,000.00 per month
