About the role

Portrade International Sdn Bhd, a leading software development company based in Kuching, Sarawak, is seeking a talented and driven Software Engineer to join our dynamic team. As a full-time Software Engineer, you will be responsible for designing, developing, and maintaining cutting-edge software solutions that support the company's strategic initiatives and deliver exceptional value to our clients.

What you'll be doing

  • Design, develop, and maintain software applications using C#, .NET Framework, and/or .NET Core
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to understand business and system requirements and deliver effective technical solutions
  • Write clean, efficient, and well-documented code in accordance with best practices and coding standards
  • Troubleshoot, debug, and optimize application performance
  • Participate in code reviews to ensure code quality, consistency, and maintainability
  • Integrate APIs, third-party services, and databases as required
  • Develop unit tests and support automated testing processes
  • Contribute to system architecture decisions and continuous improvement initiatives
  • Perform other software-related duties as assigned by Management

What we're looking for

  • Bachelor's Degree / Diploma in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Information Technology, or equivalent
  • Minimum 1–3 years of relevant working experience (fresh graduates may be considered for junior roles)
  • Proficient in one or more programming languages (e.g. Java, C#, Python, PHP, JavaScript, or equivalent)
  • Experience in web application development and/or system integration is an added advantage
  • Familiar with database systems (MySQL, SQL Server, PostgreSQL, etc.)
  • Knowledge of software development life cycle (SDLC)
  • Strong problem-solving and analytical skills
  • Able to work independently and in a team environment
  • Good communication skills
