Group General Manager

The Group General Manager (GM) is responsible for overseeing all business operations and driving strategic and financial performance across management and operations teams. This position acts as the key link between directors, departmental managers, and ground operations — ensuring smooth coordination, operational excellence, and sustainable business growth.
The GM leads the management team, promotes cross-functional alignment, and ensures the execution of company strategies in line with corporate mission and values.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Strategic Leadership & Alignment
- Translate the company's mission, vision, and annual goals into actionable business plans.
- Lead management meetings to review progress, resolve operational challenges, and maintain cross-department alignment.
- Conduct quarterly target setting and performance reviews with department managers.
- Work closely with senior leadership on key financial decisions, major investments, and contracts.
- Prepare monthly performance reports highlighting financial, operational, and human resource metrics.
- Drive strategic initiatives that support growth, market expansion, and brand positioning.
2. Operational Excellence
- Oversee daily operations across manufacturing, fulfilment, warehouse, procurement, and administration.
- Strengthen collaboration between office management functions (sales, marketing, finance, HR) and ground operations.
- Review and enhance standard operating procedures, systems, and workflows for efficiency and scalability.
- Ensure compliance with ISO, GMP, HACCP, and other quality certifications.
- Drive continuous improvement in productivity, cost control, and quality assurance.
3. Financial & Commercial Performance
- Manage the company's P&L to achieve profitability targets.
- Work with Finance on budgeting, forecasting, and variance analysis.
- Monitor commercial performance across all sales and marketing channels.
- Evaluate business initiatives to ensure return on investment (ROI) and financial sustainability.
- Lead strategic projects that contribute to revenue and margin growth.
4. People Leadership & Culture Development
- Lead, mentor, and evaluate department managers to ensure accountability and leadership capability.
- Oversee HR strategies for training, talent development, and succession planning.
- Conduct quarterly management reviews focusing on team development and organizational effectiveness.
- Foster a strong performance culture grounded in teamwork, integrity, communication, and continuous learning.
- Promote employee engagement and interdepartmental collaboration to support a positive and productive workplace.
5. Governance, Risk & Compliance
- Ensure adherence to all local regulatory requirements and relevant industry standards.
- Implement robust internal controls and monitor performance accuracy and reporting.
- Identify business risks, propose mitigation measures, and report regularly to the Board.
- Lead audit readiness and maintain documentation for certification and compliance processes.
6. Key Projects & Change Management
- Lead major operational transitions, including factory relocation or new facility setup, ensuring minimal disruption.
- Oversee new product launches through coordination between procurement, production, marketing, and sales teams.
- Manage key strategic and process improvement projects that enhance long-term business competitiveness.
Requirements
- Bachelor's Degree in Business Administration, Engineering, Operations Management, or a related field.
- At least 10 years of senior management experience, preferably in F&B manufacturing, retail, FMCG, or operations-driven environments.
- Proven track record in P&L management, operational excellence, and strategic execution.
- Strong leadership, communication, and stakeholder management skills.
- Experience in managing multi-department teams and cross-functional initiatives.
- Ability to operate effectively in a fast-paced, evolving business environment.
