Key Responsibilities

1. Cost Estimation & Budgeting

  • Prepare cost estimates, bills of quantities (BQ), and tender documents.
  • Conduct feasibility studies to estimate materials, time, and labor costs.
  • Develop and maintain cost plans throughout the project lifecycle.
  • Evaluate project budgets and ensure expenditure remains within the approved limits.

2. Tendering & Procurement

  • Prepare tender and contract documents, including quantities, schedules, and specifications.
  • Evaluate contractor and supplier quotations.
  • Participate in tender analysis and recommendation of award.
  • Liaise with vendors, subcontractors, and consultants on project costing.

3. Contract Administration

  • Administer and manage contracts (FIDIC, PAM, JKR, etc.).
  • Prepare progress claims, variation orders (VO), and interim valuations.
  • Certify subcontractor payments and manage final account settlement.
  • Monitor contractual compliance and handle contract disputes or claims.

4. Cost Control & Financial Management

  • Track project expenditures and ensure financial efficiency.
  • Prepare cost reports, cash flow forecasts, and budget updates.
  • Identify potential cost overruns and suggest corrective actions.
  • Maintain accurate records of all project-related financial transactions.

5. Project Coordination & Reporting

  • Coordinate with architects, engineers, consultants, and site teams.
  • Conduct site visits to verify progress and measurement.
  • Prepare monthly progress reports and cost summaries.
  • Support management in project planning and decision-making.

6. Risk & Value Management

  • Identify potential financial and contractual risks.
  • Recommend value engineering options to improve cost efficiency.
  • Support sustainability initiatives by optimizing material use.
