JOB DESCRIPTION:

1 - ASSISTING IN MEDICAL AND SURGICAL PROCEDURES

  • Assist veterinarians in handling and restraining animals during consultations, treatments, and procedures.
  • Provide routine care for animals treated in the clinic, including feeding, monitoring health, and ensuring their comfort.
  • Administer prescribed medications by the veterinarian, including oral and topical medicines.

2 - CLINICAL SUPPORT

  • Prepare and sterilize surgical equipment, ensuring all tools are ready for use during operations.
  • Assist during surgeries by maintaining a sterile environment, handing instruments, and monitoring patients' vital signs.
  • Perform diagnostic tasks such as blood sampling, urine testing, and laboratory analysis according to established protocols.
  • Carry out tasks such as feeding, cleaning wounds, inserting IV drips, and urinary catheters.

3 - POST-PROCEDURE CARE

  • Provide guidance to pet owners on post-surgery care, including wound management, medication, and dietary needs.
  • Conduct routine follow-ups on the recovery progress of patients and prepare reports for veterinarians and pet owners.
  • Manage vaccination schedules, deworming, and flea/tick control treatments.

4 - CLIENT COMMUNICATION AND EDUCATION

  • Communicate clearly and professionally with clients about treatment plans, medication, and procedures performed.
  • Educate pet owners on preventive healthcare, nutrition, and routine care.
  • Handle client inquiries and manage appointment bookings.

5 - PHARMACY AND BILLING

  • Handle pharmacy duties, including preparing and dispensing prescribed medications.
  • Ensure accurate billing for procedures, medications, and other services provided.
  • Maintain transaction records and assist in clinic inventory management.

6 - CLINIC MAINTENANCE

  • Maintain cleanliness and organization of clinic work areas, including consultation rooms, surgery rooms, and patient storage areas.
  • Ensure all tools and equipment are cleaned, sterilized, and ready for use.
  • Monitor clinic supplies and inform the veterinarian or management when reordering is needed.

7 - ADMINISTRATIVE TASKS

  • Support clinic administration by managing patient records, scheduling appointments, and performing clerical duties.
  • Handle follow-ups for routine treatments, vaccination schedules, and post-procedure care.
  • Assist in preparing reports or logs required by veterinarians or clinic management.

8 - OTHER DUTIES

  • Perform additional tasks assigned by veterinarians or clinic management according to daily clinic needs.
  • Update basic veterinary knowledge and best practices to provide the best support to veterinarians and clients.
