We are seeking an Engineer with a foundation in engineering principles and a newly obtained Green Book as a certified Safety & Health Officer (SHO). This dual-role position is ideal for candidates seeking to develop expertise in both engineering and workplace safety. You will assist in managing engineering tasks while also supporting the implementation of safety and health practices in compliance with DOSH Malaysia regulations.


Key Responsibilities:

Engineering Duties:

  • Assist in mechanical design, maintenance, and process improvement projects.
  • Support troubleshooting and preventive maintenance for mechanical systems and equipment.
  • Collaborate with the production team to optimise equipment performance and reduce downtime.
  • Participate in engineering documentation, such as technical drawings, P&IDs, and BOMs.
  • Monitor machine efficiency, conduct root cause analysis on failures, and implement corrective actions.

Safety & Health Officer Duties (Fresh SHO):

  • Support the implementation of workplace safety programs, in compliance with OSHA 1994, FMA 1967, and DOSH regulations.
  • Assist in preparing HIRARC, safety reports, and incident investigation documents.
  • Conduct basic site safety inspections and report unsafe acts or conditions.
  • Promote safety awareness through toolbox talks, briefings, and safety campaigns.
  • Monitor the correct use of PPE, machine guarding, and safe operating procedures.
  • Assist with safety training, emergency response drills, and audits.
  • Maintain accurate safety documentation, including daily inspections and PPE checklists.

Requirements:

  • Bachelor's Degree or Diploma in Mechanical Engineering or related discipline.
  • Certified Safety & Health Officer (SHO) by NIOSH Malaysia.
  • Registered Green Book Holder with DOSH (Fresh SHO applicants welcome).
  • Basic understanding of mechanical systems, equipment, and maintenance practices.
  • Knowledge of Occupational Safety and Health Act (OSHA 1994), FMA 1967, and related regulations.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office and basic CAD software (e.g., AutoCAD/SolidWorks).
  • Strong communication skills, proactive attitude, and willingness to learn.
  • Ability to work both independently and in a team environment.
