General Manager - Events & Sports

This prestigious event and sporting company is currently looking out for a new General Manager to be based in their headquarters in Selangor.

Your new role

  • Sales Strategy Execution: Lead and implement sales plans, ensuring they deliver expected outcomes and recommend strategic shifts when needed.
  • Revenue Growth: Identify new revenue streams and diversify product offerings to expand SIC's income sources.
  • Sales Performance Monitoring: Track monthly sales targets, develop action plans for underperformance, and craft new products based on customer needs.
  • Market & Consumer Insight: Analyse market trends and customer requirements to propose relevant solutions and guide product development.
  • Strategic Planning: Develop sales and distribution policies, set objectives for market share and profitability, and align new initiatives with SIC's mission.
  • Product & Pricing Management: Continuously review and enhance products and pricing strategies based on market feedback and competitiveness.
  • After-Sales & Client Engagement: Strengthen client relationships, gather feedback, and suggest additional services to drive repeat business and future sales.

What you'll need to succeed

Minimum qualification of a diploma or bachelor's degree.

  • Proven experience in sales leadership within the events and sports industry, with strong commercial acumen, sponsorship development skills, and understanding of fan engagement and event operations.
  • Demonstrates emotional intelligence, maintains balance, and actively pursues personal and professional development.
  • Focusses on delivering sustainable outcomes that align with organisational goals and stakeholder expectations.
  • Upholds high ethical standards, communicates transparently, and builds trust with internal and external stakeholders.
  • Listens empathetically, influences through conviction, and mobilises support across diverse groups.
  • Challenges the status quo, contributes to long-term planning, and co-develops the organisation's vision for growth.
