Position Overview

The Traffic Controller System Engineer cum Programmer will play a key role in the development, configuration, and integration of intelligent traffic control systems, including traffic light controllers, vehicle sensors, and IoT-based management systems.

This role involves technical collaboration with our China joint venture engineering team on system software, firmware, and protocol integration — requiring strong communication skills in both Mandarin and English.

Fresh graduates with a strong interest in smart city technologies, traffic systems, or embedded control programming are encouraged to apply.

Key Responsibilities

1. Design, configure, and program traffic controller systems (signal timing, intersection logic, adaptive control algorithms, etc.).
2. Develop and test traffic signal controller software/firmware under the guidance of senior engineers.
3. Integrate sensor inputs (vehicle detectors, cameras, radar, etc.) and relevant ITS applications into traffic controller logic.
4. Collaborate closely with China JV engineers on control protocols, communication standards (TCP/IP, RS485, CAN, MQTT), and cloud-based system integration.
5. Conduct system simulations, functional testing, and on-site commissioning.
6. Troubleshoot and debug hardware/software issues during implementation.
7. Prepare and maintain technical documentation, configuration manuals, and testing reports.
8. Support field teams in deploying and maintaining traffic controller units at project sites.
9. Translate and interpret technical terms and documentation between Mandarin and English for seamless collaboration.
10. Stay updated with the latest technologies in smart mobility, ITS, and traffic management solutions.

Requirements
1) Academic Qualifications

• Bachelor's Degree or Diploma in Electrical / Electronics / Mechatronics / Computer / Control Systems Engineering or related fields.
• Fresh graduates are welcome; comprehensive training will be provided.

2) Technical Skills

• Basic understanding of traffic signal control systems, embedded systems, or IoT communications is an advantage.
• Programming knowledge in C/C++, Python, or PLC logic is advantageous.
• Familiarity with microcontrollers, communication protocols (RS232/RS485, Ethernet, CAN, Modbus) or sensor integration is an added advantage.
• Knowledge of ITS standards, adaptive traffic control, or AI-based analytics is highly valued.
• Willing to travel for testing, commissioning, and system support activities.

3) Language Proficiency

• Fluent in Mandarin and English (spoken & written) — essential for collaboration with China JV engineers.
• Ability to read, write, and translate technical documents.

4) Soft Skills
