Our Client:

A leading global provider of advanced processing solutions that improve resource efficiency and sustainability. The company specializes in designing and delivering customized systems for industrial processing facilities across multiple sectors, including food, environmental, and renewable industries.

Role Overview:

The Layout Engineer plays a pivotal role in translating process concepts into detailed plant layouts and flow diagrams that meet both customer and internal technical requirements. This position bridges commercial and technical functions, ensuring accurate and optimized designs that support project proposals and quotations.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Collaborate closely with Sales Managers and the Technical Department to define process design parameters and determine equipment scope for quotation purposes.
  • Prepare detailed plant equipment layouts and process flow diagrams (PFD) based on project specifications and client requirements.
  • Manage and update process flow documentation, ensuring accuracy and alignment with the final plant layout.
  • Revise and modify layout drawings according to customer feedback and sales department inputs while maintaining compliance with design standards.
  • Support the preparation of mass balance calculations, sales costing, and related technical documentation for tender and quotation submissions.
  • Assist Sales Managers in compiling and submitting tender documents and technical proposals within required timelines.
  • Coordinate with internal teams to ensure that proposed layouts are practical, efficient, and cost-effective for fabrication and installation.
  • Maintain proper documentation control and drawing archives for all assigned projects.

Qualifications:

  • Diploma or higher qualification in Mechanical, Process, or Chemical Engineering.
  • Minimum of 3 years' experience in industrial equipment or system design, preferably within food, environmental, or palm oil processing industries.
  • Strong proficiency in 2D and 3D CAD software, preferably AutoCAD or Autodesk Inventor.
  • Solid understanding of process design principles and equipment layout optimization.
  • Detail-oriented with excellent spatial and technical visualization skills.
  • Good communication and teamwork skills to liaise effectively across departments.
