Gate Coordinator

RESPONSIBILITIES

• Manages all gate-in operations and verification activity during the container gate-in terminal and gate-out terminal
• Liaises with customers, truck drivers, container/CFS operators regarding terminal gate container transactions and transfer activities
• Facilitates fast and efficient container handling/transfer services using OPUS Terminal Operating System. Ensures fastest possible truck turnaround time & 'IN and OUT' gate processing
• Willing to work on rotational shifts 24/7 and extended hours if necessary

DUTIES

• Execute gate operations by priorities set by the operations requirements, report any problem in areas of gate operations and implement the agreed changes to resolve the problems
• Processes all gate activities and administration ensuring accurate and timely transactions
• Receives/releases Import/Export containers at the gate, with assistance to verify container details to tally with the terminal system record before allowing container trucks to the gate in / out for laden and empty movements at BKHICD
• Make sure to take records of all items entering and leaving the Terminals and record them in Terminal Operating system
• Prepare gate slip for truckers entering the terminal to guide container drop off area and pick up area, provide double slip if truckers assigned double booking.
• Responsible for the effective management and coordination with the truckers and customers at the terminal gate
• Perform a physical inspection of all equipment as it enters or exits BKHICD if damage is found to create a damage report with trucker acknowledgment and record in the Terminal system
• Interacts with truck drivers to answer inquiries, convey information and provide good customer service
• Helps in the overall operations of the gate and is responsible for the execution of day-to-day gate activities
• Ensure safe working conditions are kept at the gate at all times and report to the supervisor if any discrepancies on information to clear with customers prior to allowing them to gate in.
• Constant coordination with the control tower to ensure smooth traffic flow inside and outside of the terminal gate.
• The key impact of this incumbent will be the maintenance of operational efficiencies in the terminal
• To segregate warehouse waste follow guideline/rules, such as schedule waste, paper, carton, etc.
• To carry out 3R (Reduce, Reuse, Recycle) practices within PKT Group of Companies.
• Perform any other assignments as and when requested by superior(s) and comply with the company's rules and regulations.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: RM2, RM2,800.00 per month
