Primary Functions:

Supervise all the activities of the processing plant as directed by the Process Superintendent, Technical Services Superintendent or Process Manager utilising the resources of the Shift Leader and Plant Operator.

Supervise the flotation plant operation including the sampling process monitoring and reagent dosing management in order to achieve the optimize recovery and concentrate grade utilising the resources of the Shift Leader and Plant Operator. This must be achieved safely and efficiently.

Principle Accountabilities:

  • Monitor daily activities of the processing plant are operated and coordinated in the most efficient manner.
  • Perform the plant parameter inspection at least once or twice per shift to ensure the parameter is well managed during the plant operation.
  • Reporting on metallurgical or process issues and makes recommendation to the superior on how to resolve or correct the issues at hand.
  • Conduct all data analysis during the shift to ensure all stages of the plant process are being properly managed against key performance criteria.
  • Ensure work request has been issued to maintenance if there is any plant processing equipment require further mechanical or electrical troubleshoot.
  • Give plant operator on job training to ensure they are understand their job scope and job responsibility in order to get the processing plant was operate in optimize and safe manner.
  • Ensure that processing plant operation parameters are maintained within set guideline in SOPs.
  • Assist in preparation and improving of SOPs for managing the metallurgical and processing in processing plant operation.
  • Provide technical support to the processing plant operator and supervisor.
  • Maintain the highest possible safety, health and environmental standards with regard to personnel and equipment.
  • Any other various and miscellaneous duties as directed by the Process Manager and Process Superintendent.

Competencies desired

  • A bachelor's degree in Metallurgy, Mineral Processing or Chemical Engineering.
  • Experience of working in mining/mineral processing environment, preferably with some exposure to gold is an added advantage.
