Job Overview

We are seeking a proactive and detail-oriented Junior QA cum Halal Executive to join our Quality Assurance team. This role will support QA/QC, R&D, Production, and Halal compliance functions to ensure consistent product quality, safety, and full adherence to Halal certification requirements.


Key Responsibilities

  • Assist in implementing and monitoring FSSC 22000, ISO 22000, HACCP, GMP, and Halal Assurance System (HAS) in daily operations.
  • Conduct regular internal audits, GMP inspections, and Halal compliance checks across production lines.
  • Support QA/QC testing (physical, chemical, microbial) of raw materials, in-process, and finished products.
  • Collaborate with R&D in new product development, recipe validation, and shelf-life studies.
  • Work closely with Production to supervise critical control points (CCPs), troubleshoot quality issues, and ensure corrective actions are implemented.
  • Maintain accurate documentation: batch records, test reports, Halal logs, CAPA, and non-conformance reports.
  • Assist in Halal certification renewal, supplier audits, and JAKIM/MSA compliance.
  • Liaise with local authorities (e.g., local councils, Ministry of Health, regulators) for compliance, inspections, and export documentation.
  • Support US FDA compliance requirements, including FSMA, labeling, and export certification.
  • Participate in customer complaint investigations and root cause analysis.
  • Support training of production staff on food safety, hygiene, and Halal practices.

Requirements

  • Diploma/Bachelor's Degree in Food Science, Food Technology, Biotechnology, Microbiology, or related field.
  • Minimum 1–2 years of hands-on experience in QA/QC within food manufacturing, preferably in sauces, condiments, or liquid food products.
  • Proven experience in implementing and maintaining FSSC 22000, ISO 22000, HACCP, GMP, and US FDA standards.
  • Strong understanding of Halal certification (JAKIM/MS 1500:2019) and Halal Assurance System (HAS), including internal Halal committee operations.
  • Experience in coordinating with local authorities for regulatory compliance, export documentation, and audits.
  • Familiar with microbiological testing, sensory evaluation, and lab instrumentation is an advantage.
  • Good command of English and Bahasa Malaysia (written and spoken).
  • Proficient in MS Office; experience with ERP or quality management systems is a plus.
  • Detail-oriented, analytical, with strong problem-solving and communication skills.
  • Able to work in a fast-paced manufacturing environment and perform shift duties if required.
