Senior Manager/Manager, Commodity

Duties Responsibilities:

• Assess and approve supplier and market information, with a focus on OEMs, cables, and harness components
• Devise ways and means to maximize commodity buying efficiency and minimize risks.
• Collaborate with commodities team to ensure deadlines are met.
• Develop and manage pricing strategies.
• Encourage team spirit and discuss performance periodically.
• Draft proposals to manage contracts and negotiations.
• Preserve and promote company standards by building a strong and self-sufficient commodity supply base.
• Collaborate with suppliers on improving quality.
• Alleviate risks and focus on developing supplier performance.
• Assists in keeping project within budgeting guidelines.
• Instruct and support trainees on commodity sourcing.
• Supervise supply quality and feedback.
• Inculcate extensive knowledge on commodities and their sales and purchases.
• Develop and maintain business communication with suppliers regarding their concerns.
• Encourage staff to design novel techniques for commodity sourcing.
• Manage NDA's & other supply agreements with suppliers and legal. Assure NDAs in place before engagement with potential new suppliers.
• Manage overall Safety Stock or BCP inventory levels.
• For Critical Commodities, manage a sourcing strategy for buyers to reference.
• Member of the team that presents scorecards to "key" suppliers.
• Acts as key contact for Engineering on Unsourced new technologies/parts.
• Manage additional equipment qualification at Supplier locations to ensure project stays on track and completion per customer requirements.
• Manage Dual sourcing strategy and implementation.
• Identify and implement cost-saving measures throughout the procurement process, such as:
• Consolidating purchases.
• Negotiating better pricing terms.
• Implementing cost-reduction strategies with suppliers.
• Identifying and eliminating non-value-added activities.
• Collaborate with contract manufacturers and suppliers to reduce lead times through:

Streamlining procurement processes.

Improving supplier responsiveness.

Implementing just-in-time (JIT) inventory management.

Optimizing transportation and logistics.

• Ensure compliance with international customs regulations for importing and exporting goods.
• Coordinate with customs brokers and authorities to facilitate smooth customs clearance.
• Stay updated on changes in customs laws and regulations.
• Utilize data analytics to track procurement performance, identify trends, and make data-driven decisions.
• Develop and maintain key performance indicators (KPIs) related to cost, lead time, quality, and supplier performance.

Job Requirements:

Required Qualifications:

• Requires a bachelor's degree in supply chain, Business, Engineering or related field
• 5+ years of experience in the related area as an individual contributor
• Extensive knowledge of the supply chain function and department processes
• Exposure to supply chain commodities like metal frames, cables/harnesses, sheet metal and metal fabrication components

Required Skills:

• Strong communication and presentation skills (verbal and written)
• Strong project management and problem-solving skills
• Ability to work independently and as a part of a cross functional team
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office suites and enterprise resource planning (ERP) systems
• Advanced analytical and excel skills
• Preferable Semiconductor Industry experience

• Ability to work in office and manufacturing environment
• Capability to stand and walk for extended periods during facility tours and audits
• Ability to travel internationally with valid passport (up to 25%)

Work Environment:

• Primary location is office-based with regular travel to supplier facilities or company sister sites
