Shoo Lab is a trusted care service for shoes, bags, leather goods, and accessories. As we expand into premium restoration and custom services, we are investing in high-level expertise to set regional standards in leather care.

We are seeking a Head of Leather Restoration & Innovation a specialized technical leader who can elevate Shoo Lab's restoration capabilities, train our team, and help us scale into the premium market.

Role Overview

This is a hands-on specialist role. You will lead all leather/bag technical work (repairs, restoration, customization), set quality benchmarks, and train Shoo Lab's staff. You will also guide product sourcing, recommend tools/solutions, and experiment with new techniques to position Shoo Lab as a premium care brand.

Key Responsibilities
1. Leather & Bag Restoration
  • Perform advanced restoration services:
  • Bag cleaning & spa treatments
  • Leather recoloring, dyeing, and refinishing
  • Stitching, piping, panel, and hardware repairs
  • Conditioning, waterproofing, and protective treatments
  • Handle premium/luxury brands (LV, Gucci, Chanel, etc.) with museum-level care.
  • Develop SOPs for every service line (bags, wallets, strollers, leather jackets, golf bags).
2. R&D & Innovation
  • Research and test global best practices in leather care.
  • Recommend, test, and source specialized tools, dyes, and chemicals (coordinate with Dalkom Buddy procurement).
  • Introduce new high-margin services (e.g., exotic skins, luxury touch-ups, full recoloring).
  • Ensure Shoo Lab keeps pace with European/Japanese standards in bag restoration.
3. Training & Knowledge Transfer
  • Build and run training modules for outlet staff and hub cleaners.
  • Certify Shoo Lab's cleaners under a Leather Restoration Certification framework.
  • Mentor junior staff into becoming restoration specialists.
4. Quality Control
  • Inspect all restoration jobs before delivery to clients.
  • Resolve escalations related to luxury bag or leather work.
  • Ensure consistent service quality across Shoo Lab outlets and central hub.
5. Business Support
  • Support Founder & Ops Head in pricing strategy for restoration services.
  • Help design premium "Reborn" line (luxury-focused service tier).
  • Provide technical expertise in partnership proposals with high-end clients (hotels, boutiques, schools, golf clubs).
KPIs (First 12 Months)
  • Successful delivery of 30+ luxury restoration jobs with 95%+ satisfaction rate.
  • Develop 5 new premium services (e.g., exotic leather repair, recoloring, bag spa).
  • Train and certify at least 3 internal staff in advanced leather care.
  • Introduce and standardize at least 10 new SOPs for restoration processes.
  • Achieve 20% revenue growth from high-end restoration category.
Qualifications
  • 5+ years' hands-on experience in bag/leather repair, spa, or luxury restoration.
  • Experience with premium/luxury brands (Louis Vuitton, Gucci, Chanel, Hermès).
  • Skilled in stitching, piping, dyeing, leather refinishing, and hardware replacement.
  • Knowledge of chemicals, dyes, and tools used in restoration.
  • Creative problem-solver with a high attention to detail.
  • Comfortable leading training sessions for non-technical staff.
