Junior AI Engineer — Corporate Development Unit (CDU), Presgo Gateways

Mission

Support the design, training and deployment of AI features that power Presgo's Smart City stack ANPR/computer vision, AIRES forecasting & anomaly detection and citizen/council analytics while growing skills through structured mentorship.

What You'll Do

  • Data & Features

  • Clean and join data from SQL Server/MySQL/ArcGIS/IoT; write reproducible notebooks (pandas/SQL).

  • Engineer features for computer vision (augmentations/labels) and time-series (holiday flags, rolling stats).

  • Modeling & Evaluation

  • Train baseline models (sklearn, PyTorch/TensorFlow) for detection/forecasting/anomaly tasks.

  • Run proper splits/backtests; report metrics (mAP/IoU, precision/recall, MAE/RMSE/WAPE) with clear charts.

  • Packaging & Serving

  • Wrap models into simple services (FastAPI) and containers (Docker); assist deployment to AWS (Lambda/ECS).

  • Add basic monitoring (latency/throughput/accuracy snapshots) and logging.

  • Dashboards & Hand-off

  • Help convert outputs into visuals (QuickSight/Power BI/Streamlit) and write concise model cards & readmes.

  • Security & Governance

  • Handle data responsibly (PDPA), use anonymization/aggregation when needed, manage credentials (Secrets Manager).

  • Team & Learning

  • Participate in code reviews, sprint rituals and the internal AI Knowledge Transfer (KT) sessions; apply feedback quickly.

Minimum Qualifications

  • 0–2 years relevant experience (internships/projects count) or strong portfolio/Kaggle-style work.
  • Solid Python, pandas, NumPy, scikit-learn; basic PyTorch or TensorFlow.
  • Fundamentals in ML theory (train/val/test, bias–variance, evaluation metrics).
  • SQL basics; comfort with Git and Jupyter/VS Code.
  • Clear written communication (concise readmes, charts that match numbers).

Nice-to-Have (learn on the job if missing)

  • Computer Vision: OpenCV, YOLO/Ultralytics, dataset/label tooling.
  • Time-Series: Prophet, ARIMA, backtesting patterns; anomaly detection (Isolation Forest/Autoencoders).
  • MLOps/Cloud: FastAPI, Docker; AWS (S3, Lambda, ECS/Fargate, API Gateway, CloudWatch); CI basics.
  • Geo/IoT: GeoPandas/Folium/Kepler, ArcGIS REST, MQTT/Kinesis/IoT Core.
  • Security/Identity: PDPA awareness, Keycloak/OIDC basics.
