Job Description:

Support the Precision Agriculture Unit by assisting in geospatial mapping, data management, and technology-driven agricultural optimization. Key responsibilities include:

  • Geospatial & Mapping Support: Assist in supervising staff in the creation of estate, field, and manuring boundary maps, ensuring accuracy and alignment with operational needs.

  • GNSS & Aerial Imaging Coordination: Address stakeholder requests for GNSS mapping and aerial imaging, overseeing planning, execution, and quality assurance.

  • Training & Development: Contribute to capacity-building initiatives by supporting training programs to enhance the geospatial and data science competencies of colleagues and subordinates.

  • Survey Team Coordination: Assist in managing survey teams, preparing work schedules, and ensuring efficient execution of tasks in accordance with best technical standards.

  • Data Management & Analytics: Collect, clean, and maintain agricultural datasets, leveraging data science methodologies to develop smart farming solutions.

  • Decision-Making Optimization: Utilize data-driven approaches to enhance crop health, resource efficiency, and precision-based decision-making processes in plantation management.

  • SMART Platform Development & Maintenance: Support the enhancement and upkeep of SMART, the precision agriculture platform, ensuring seamless integration of geospatial intelligence, IoT, and AI-driven analytics for optimized plantation management.

  • General Support: Provide assistance on other tasks or projects as assigned by superiors, ensuring seamless integration of geospatial and data-driven innovations into plantation operations.

Education / Professional Qualification

The Job

  • Degree in geospatial science & IT related field. (Remote Sensing / Geomatics / Geoinformatics / IT or related discipline). (Minimum Requirement)

Professional Experience

  • No experience required, however a minimum of 2 years working experience in the field of Geospatial Technologies is preferred.
