The ideal candidate will be responsible for creating, installing and managing our databases. You will ensure optimal database performance by analyzing database issues and monitoring database performance.

Work Location:
Bangsar, Kuala Lumpur.

12-month contract
(renewable or potential absorption into permanent role).

Responsibilities

  • Manage and maintain large-scale relational databases (e.g., SQL Server, Oracle, PostgreSQL, MySQL, MongoDB).
  • Install, configure, and upgrade database servers and applications.
  • Monitor and optimize database performance, identifying and resolving bottlenecks.
  • Design and implement database architectures, including clustering, replication, and backup strategies.
  • Perform regular database backups, disaster recovery, and business continuity planning.
  • Ensure data security and compliance with privacy regulations, managing access and permissions.
  • Collaborate with development teams to design and optimize queries, stored procedures, and database objects.
  • Troubleshoot and resolve database issues, including performance tuning, locking, and data corruption.
  • Set up and maintain high availability (HA) and disaster recovery (DR) solutions.
  • Manage database migrations, updates, and patches in a timely and efficient manner.
  • Develop and maintain database documentation, including design, procedures, and security protocols. Provide on-call support for database-related incidents and issues.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's Degree or equivalent experience in Computer Science, Technology, or a related field of study
  • 4 to 7 years of experience in SQL Server and Oracle
  • Strong analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making skills
