Senior Officer, Risk

Job Summary

The Senior Officer of Risk & Compliance supports the Head of Risk & Compliance to implement effective companywide Enterprise Risk Management (ERM) that include crisis management & corporate risk planning. Additionally, the Assistant Manager/ Senior Officer of Risk & Compliance conduct compliance monitoring, in accordance with the relevant laws and regulations, internal policies & procedures. This role supports the Head of Risk & Compliance to cultivate a risk & compliance culture by facilitating trainings and awareness program.

Job Responsibilities:

1. Enterprise Risk Management (ERM), Business Continuing Management (BCM) and Compliance Monitoring

• Implement effective company-wide ERM that include business continuity, crisis management and corporate risk planning.
• Facilitate group-wide risk assessments to identify potential threats and vulnerabilities to the organization's operations, systems, and infrastructure.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure the development and testing of business continuity and disaster recovery plans for critical business functions and systems.
• Execute compliance plans to manage and mitigate crisis and compliance violations after performing risk and compliance assessments.
• Assist the Head of Risk & Compliance to review the effectiveness of the risk response plan and existing internal controls and provide recommendations for business process improvement, as appropriate.
• Conduct compliance monitoring in line with the requirements of local laws and regulations, as well as company-wide internal policies.
• Verify all required licenses to operate, regulatory policies and procedures have been documented in a Compliance Database.
• Prepare Risk Reports, Business Continuity Plan (BCP), Emergency Response Plan (ERP), Crisis Management Plan (CMP), Disaster Recovery Plan (DRP) that mitigate risk and manage crises.
• Ensure emerging issues and trends that could impact the company are communicated to Head of Risk & Compliance.

2. Training & Development

• Assist Head of Risk & Compliance to cultivate a culture of risk and compliance.
• Coordinate and facilitate trainings and awareness programs to enhance the organisation's preparedness and response capabilities, avoid regulatory non-compliance and severe penalties.
• Organise networking sessions with other risk management & compliance practitioners to gain cross industry risk and compliance perspectives.

3. Others

• Undertake other ad hoc assignments as required.

Job Requirements:

• A Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Risk Management, Finance, Accounting, or a related discipline is essential.
• Possesses a recognised Business Continuity Management (BCM) or risk management qualifications and certifications, such as CBCP, CBCI, CRA, CRMA, CRMP, or QRA, will be a strong advantage.
• In-depth knowledge of enterprise risk management (ERM), business continuity management (BCM), internal controls, and regulatory compliance, preferably within related industries.
• Possesses a minimum of 6 to 8 years of relevant experience in risk management, BCM, compliance, or a related field.
• Exceptional problem-solving skills, with the ability to identify, analyze, and address challenges effectively.
• Strong communication skills, both written and verbal, to engage with stakeholders at all levels of the organization.
• Strong interpersonal skills, with the ability to build and maintain positive working relationships.
• A high level of integrity and professionalism, combined with good business acumen.
• A collaborative team player who can contribute effectively to group efforts and foster a supportive team environment.
• Keep abreast with current trends, new regulations, industry trends, and emerging issues that may impact the organization.
